XC Bond

A XC bond is a type of split bond used by the Marion County Indiana Superior Court system.  The XC bond is a hybrid bail bond composed of two seperate and distinct bail bond types:  surety and cash.

The surety half of the XC bond is posted by a bail bondsman.  The bondsman fee is 10% of the amount of the surety bond set by  the court.

The cash bond half of the XC bond may be posted by anyone  in conjunction with the surety bond.  The cash bond deposit is the entire amount as set by the court.

Both halves of the XC bond must be posted at the same time and location.

Even if the defendant is in attendance at all court appearances, The Marion County Superior cours  may  keep all or a part of the cash bond deposit for costs and/or fees related to the case.   Anything left of the cash bond deposit can then be refunded.   The premium paid to the bail bondsma, by law, is not refunadable.
